The Bank of Hampton built in 1892 failed in bankruptcy in 1926.
The original paintings on the safe doors are just one of many
treasures inside the Hampton Museum & Visitors' Center.

Some of the many visitors to The Hampton Museum & Visitors' Center
are former Editor's of The Hampton County Guardian (L-R)
Laura McKenzie, Martha Bee Anderson and a descendent
of Gov. Miles B. McSweeney.

Each year, during the Watermelon Festival, Lake Warren State Park features
exhibits in their community building on Family Fun Day.
Exhibits are contributed by The Hampton Museum & Visitors' Center.

A favorite photo shot at the side of the Hampton Museum & Visitors'
Center is the bench and Confederate Jasmine covered archway.

The Nell Lightsey Park located across from the Hampton County Courthouse is beautiful
in the springtime with wisteria blossoms and in the summer with its Crepe Myrtle.

Nell Lightsey Park is a restful place with its many porch swings and gazebo. Many families
take a break from shopping just to rest and watch the world go by.

The original tree and Spanish moss design, by Norman Owens, offers an unique
backdrop for our "Children in the Park" located in the extension of the Nell Lightsey
Park.

"Guardian of the Park", an original sculpture by Phyllis Miglarese Stanley, behind the
Hampton Museum & Visitors Center, is typical of the art found locally.
